“Dear Pam, I am writing to convey the positive impact your magazine had on my husband and me during a recent visit to Ponte Vedra Beach. We live in Alabama and were considering a second home on Ponte Vedra Boulevard. I picked up a copy of Living Luxe while lounging at the Sawgrass Marriott Spa and read it cover to cover, every single word of every article, every ad. As a marketing professional myself, I recognized the small fortune it must require to produce a publication like this. 

I love this magazine! — so much so, that I literally cut my spa day short in order to jump in our car and begin heading to as many of your advertisers as possible. I Googled about 9 or 10 of them, drawing a map to visit them with what time we had left (not the least of which was Bentley!). We first headed to Carla Shoes, where I dropped about a thousand dollars on the exact sandals in their ad, plus designer handbags. I stood at the counter for about 30 minutes, chatting with staff and describing every single thing I loved about your magazine. We then visited both Nona Blue and Aqua Grill once at the same shopping center, also based on seeing their logos in your restaurant spread. Then, we headed to Le Macaron French Pastries where we bought multiple macaron gifts to bring home to friends — their countertop covered with pretty boxes and bows while being wrapped for us. They, too, got to hear all about how we loved their ad! By now, we needed to be heading back home. 

It was remarkable to me that one magazine could have so much appeal — sure doesn’t happen much — and that the advertisers we visited maintained the luxury brand that was promoted. 

Our experience with Living Luxe left such an impression that we’ve decided to move here, after all! It was just the affirmation we needed, as it reflects so well on this region to have a magazine of this caliber. It’s clear that you’ve done the homework for us in educating us on the First Coast, and which are the premium brands to patronize.

“Pam, I am happy to write down my perspective… Regarding our experience with advertising, until we partnered with Living Luxe we were extremely disappointed with the look and feel of virtually every other local magazine. They simply are not anywhere close to what we have seen in other metro markets. Their general quality, etc. are just not commensurate with our clientele. As a result, for nearly 30 years we deliberately chose not to advertise in any print medium and relied solely on word of mouth and social media. Unfortunately, though, in the last few years we have noticed an interesting shift. Despite being one of the top interior design firms in the area [Amanda Webster Design] and among the top window and door dealers (in the case of FENBLIK), in this digital age, word of mouth is just not enough. This made the introduction of Living Luxe in the local market very timely for both of our companies and we signed on almost immediately. We have found it to be very beneficial and in line with the high-net-worth social strata of our respective clientele. At least once or twice in a typical week we receive calls from people stating that they saw our ad and would like to discuss their project. More importantly, since we began advertising in Living Luxe, the ads have converted into actual sales, which is obviously the most important metric of all. As we’re likely about to sign with Arthur Rutenberg Homes to build our new custom dream home, I wanted to just take a minute on how this all came about. Eloy and I have been considering home options for a long time but couldn’t find anything worth us moving. I was consistently seeing the EvenTide ad in Living Luxe magazine that prompted us to visit your model home, the style of which we fell in love with. We are personally familiar with Living Luxe — the publisher, Pam Anderson, worked with Eloy in doing a feature on Florida bird life that became the front cover story about a year ago. It was a fantastic experience, and we got a ton of rave reviews from people seeing the story. And while we haven’t connected with Pam in a long while, were it not for Living Luxe — and seeing that EvenTide ad in every issue reminding us to visit — we may have never connected the dots we needed to in order to get the right new dream home.

EvenTide is a beautiful community, but in the end, we preferred the Intracoastal and marsh views so key to Eloy’s photography. From this all, it looks like AR Homes is getting a new custom home contract on our property, and it’s important that the company recognize the role that Living Luxe played. Ironically, Eloy got an email from Pam a few days ago exploring a story about some adorable bluebirds he photographed out back during the spring lockdown, and it occurred to me that Pam doesn’t even know about our new home plans or the fact that her amazing magazine factored into our decision.

If you go back to the Spring 2019 issue, Pam quoted me regarding Eloy’s photography taking over our house and the need to build a home to have a proper studio. I have to appreciate the coincidence of that story, EvenTide’s ad, and, of course, Living Luxe that made it happen for all of us. In fact, thinking back on all this now, Pam had even told me about the EvenTide community at the time and had encouraged us to visit, but she’s been unaware of all that’s transpired since!

Coming from a marketing background, I know how unusual it is for ownership to ever really know how effective (or not) their advertising is, so I wanted to spell this all out so that both EvenTide and Arthur Rutenberg Homes knows business is being generated from this magazine.
